Celebrating The Queen’s Jubilee

Along with the rest of the nation, we celebrated Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee with a wonderful BBQ Lunch on Sunday the 5th of June 2022. We had a great day with our residents here at The Ashton, as well as their friends and family members who we welcomed to join us for the celebration. 

We extended our Jubilee celebrations over the course of the week, and we were later entertained by Nick Golden who performs songs from the 1940s. Our residents really enjoyed singing along and dancing to all of the classics. He knew exactly how to get the party started, and he made us all laugh by doing his impression of Corporal Jones from Dad's Army. The residents also really enjoyed having the little explorers visit for a sing-song in celebration of the national event.

We don’t need an excuse to party, but throwing one always goes down well with our residents. Here at The Ashton Care Home, we love to celebrate any occasion, big or small. Whether we’re celebrating a national holiday, or we’re throwing a fantastic party on behalf of one of our residents, we enjoy hosting a variety of social events which provides the perfect opportunity for our residents and their loved ones to get together and meet new people.
