Activities Programme & Entertainment

We think that residents at The Ashton Care Home should be able to get the most out of every day of their stay. Our devoted team strives to provide a range of choices so residents have everything they need to enjoy a rich and diverse life. Whether it’s reading a book in the garden or participating in an Arts & Crafts session, we encourage all residents to keep doing exactly what makes them happy.

Our Activity Coordinator plan weekly activities that are both stimulating and accessible, such as sing-alongs, baking and movie days. Our Activities Programme provides a variety of activities and alternative therapies for persons with memory loss, such as memory boxes and reminiscing. We also organise numerous excursions to popular attractions in the Leicestershire area and have fantastic relationships with the local community.

We strive to create an environment where residents are able to experience positive and memorable memories every day. Our Activity Coordinator provides residents with opportunities each week that allow them to participate in a variety of engaging activities, either individually or in a group setting. We value our residents’ ability to make decisions and manage their lives as much as possible so that they can live as independently as possible.

At The Ashton Care Home, we strive to cater to a wide range of interests for people of all ages and abilities. Whether residents are living with restricted mobility, dementia or require assistance with daily responsibilities, our activities programme offers a wide selection of activities to fit a wide range of people. Pet therapy, arts and crafts and quizzes are examples of the kind of activities available, all of which are aimed to engage residents and leave them laughing and smiling.

At The Ashton Care Home we enjoy giving residents the opportunity to explore the local community. Local attractions include: Twycross Zoo, Thornton Reservoir, Hinckley & District Museum as well as many Garden Centres as we can find.

We regularly invite Entertainers such as singers and musicians into our home, to entertain both residents and staff. Our staff take great delight in watching residents sing along or tap their feet to the beat. We also enjoy and encourage visits from furry friends, where residents take great joy in petting and feeding pets.

We think that moving to a new home should not mean a change in lifestyle, and we endeavour to give our residents a happy and stimulating environment. We take pleasure in offering a wide range of activities that are both diverse and inclusive, allowing our residents to get the most out of their stay while also benefiting from the various mental and social benefits that a stimulating activities programme can provide.
