Every year our care home in Hinckley takes part in 'National Arts & Crafts Week' which is hosted by Arts in Care Homes UK.
The goal is to support and inspire artistic involvement in healthcare environments, emphasising the positive impact on the health and well-being of everyone involved. This year's theme was 'Reflections' and all of our residents were excited to take part in creating something special for the event.
Our 2023 project was 'Four Corners of the World' and was created by several of our residents with watercolours and then a collage was created. Our creation has been put on display in the Chilvers Coton Heritage Centre in Nuneaton and will be on display till the end of September.
At The Ashton, we hold the belief that various forms of art therapy enhance the well-being of elderly individuals. Our activities team is dedicated to creating stimulating and inclusive activities programme that empowers all residents, motivating them to face each day with enthusiasm. Group activities also foster connections among residents, staff, family members and the broader community.
Our Arts and crafts sessions extend far beyond mere painting; they deliver a wide range of benefits and our staff have witnessed firsthand the positive impact they have on our residents.
At The Ashton Care Home, we prioritise ensuring that each and every one of our residents can fully enjoy all the activities we offer, regardless of their abilities. We actively encourage residents to engage in these activities safely and under supervision, allowing them to explore new avenues and acquire fresh skills that boost their self-confidence and enrich their lives.
